Free Legal Help for NYC Business Leases
The NYC Department of Small Business Services offers free legal services to help eligible businesses with commercial lease matters, including:
- Signing a new commercial lease
- Amending, renewing, or terminating an existing commercial lease
- Addressing a commercial lease–related issue
Who’s eligible? Your business must be a small business located in NYC, cannot be a franchise establishment, and must meet the program’s income eligibility requirements.
How it works:
- Visit nyc.gov/commlease and fill out the Commercial Lease Assistance Inquiry Form.
- A participating legal services provider will contact you within three business days.
- Begin the intake process with the provider to receive assistance.
