The Position
HOPE is seeking a Work Readiness Instructor who will teach students how to be prepared for
the workforce. The position reports to the Assistant Director of Bronx Programs. This is a
hybrid position, working out of HOPE’s South Bronx location at 1360 Garrison Avenue a
minimum of three times per week.
Responsibilities
● Assist in the scheduling and delivery of program curriculum, aligning lessons with other
components of training, and providing facilitation and classroom based instruction ●
On-board and orient program participants; track attendance for all activities ● Facilitate
formal training and on-going coaching on essential skills development in alignment with
HOPE’s core essential skills curriculum, to ensure participants are positioned for
successful permanent employment
● Gather, record, and maintain accurate, thorough, and timely student information,
including, but not limited to, attendance, academic performance, professional

development, case notes, and referrals, following HOPE’s standards in HOPE’s
database of record, Salesforce.
● Collaborate with other instructors as well as HOPE’s Employment and Business
Services, and Work Wellness teams to ensure that all students receive a continuous set
of appropriate services and referrals that support meaningful employment, retention,
and advancement. This includes attending scheduled case conferencing meetings with
the full staff
● Facilitate or assist with special activities (e.g. graduation ceremonies, holiday dinners,
retention events, student recruitment events, student intake interviews, practice
interviews), as needed.
● Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within scope of the
duties in this classification
Minimum Qualification
● High School Diploma or equivalent required
● Excellent presentation, facilitation, and conflict resolution skil
● Ability to work with and motivate adults of diverse backgrounds and abilities ● Very
detail-oriented, well-organized and able to successfully navigate multiple activities
simultaneously
● Experience supervising and coaching individuals towards success a plus
● Commitment to sustainable building practices
● Strong organizational, teamwork, and communication skills
● A minimum of 1 year experience in adult education, group facilitation, or a work
readiness support role is a plus
Salary/Benefits
The salary is dependent upon experience. The salary range is $50,000-$60,000. HOPE
provides a full package of benefits including healthcare and dental insurance, retirement pla
competitive vacation (plus half-day Fridays during summer which is equal to 7.5 additional
vacation days, and 12 paid holidays.
