Transfer Credit Evaluator (Admissions Advisor) POSITION DETAILS The Office of Admissions and Recruitment at Hostos Community College seeks an Admissions Advisor/Transfer Credit Evaluator. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Admissions and Recruitment, the successful candidate will work to coordinate transfer credit evaluations. In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Coordinates transfer credit evaluations within the Office of Admissions and Recruitment; Evaluates past credits earned by transfer, re-admit, and special program students; Provides support during the transfer student application process via CUNYfirst, which includes data entry of new transfer admission application into CUNYfirst; Assists in coordinating New Student Receptions, Open House events, and New Student Orientations; Represents the Office of Admissions and Recruitment while liaising with the College’s internal and external communities as directed; Provides excellent customer service to prospective students and their families by responding to inquiries, scheduling transfer student information sessions, and providing information about academic programs, student support services, and policies; Collaborates with the Assistant Director and other departments across the College to ensure that transfer admission processes are aligned with University policies and procedures; Communicates with the Assistant Director regarding updates to and maintenance of transfer student content on the Admissions and Recruitment website; Coordinates the review of domestic and international transfer applications and supports the admission decision process under established University policies and campus-based procedures; Uses customer-relationship-management system to track prospective student interactions; Performs day-to-day operations of the Office of Admissions and Recruitment to provide adequate coverage (front desk, ZOOM, phone, and e-mail); Performs other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Admissions and Recruitment; Essential duties require on-campus presence. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s Degree required. The following qualifications are preferred: Knowledge of transfer credit practices; Minimum of three years of experience in higher education, particularly in admissions, transfer credit evaluations, or other student affairs units. Experience working with CUNYfirst is highly preferred. Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed. Conducts open house sessions and orientations to ensure applicants are fully informed of requirements and processes Assists in direct recruiting at high schools, community outreach events, and other appropriate locations Provides general information on programs and services in person or by telephone, email, or letter Maintains current information about College programs and degree requirements Performs related duties as assigned Job Title Name: Admissions Advisor CUNY TITLE Assistant to HEO FLSA Non-exempt COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS $44,411 – $51,789; Salary commensurate with education and experience.
