BronxCare is the largest voluntary, not-for-profit health and teaching hospital system serving the South and Central Bronx is looking for a Houskeeping Supervisor
Responsibilities
- Implement processes to improve Press Ganey and HCAHPS – Room Cleanliness, Courtesy of person cleaning room during their hospital stay and how often the rooms and bathrooms need to be cleaned.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment includes office, supply area and equipment room
- Orients, trains and evaluates employees on a timely basis per BronxCare policy.
- Attends mandatory monthly meetings and in-services also actively participates
- Oversee internal and external move request
- Seeks to understand underlying or unstated customer needs; publicly monitors performance and holds self and others consistently accountable for providing excellent service; consistently confronts and takes action when individuals fail to meet expected standards; makes concerted effort to exceed clients’/customers’ expectations by making use of satisfactions survey.
- Provide a workable guide to laundry personal for the care of patient with potentially communicable diseases and to protect as well as the personnel from unnecessary expose to a potentially contaminated environment to prevent cross infection and secondary infection.
- Ensure linen products are of quality to ensure patient comfort and textile durability.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of three years of hospital environmental services experience.
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to operate and demonstrate all environmental services equipment, vacuum cleaners, buffing and burnished machines and ride on equipment to staff.
- Ability to communicate effectively in written format and oral presentations
- Ability to multi-task and establish priorities
- Ability to maintain organization in a changing and stressful environment
- Ability to prioritize discharges and bed flow
- Exhibit initiative, responsibility, flexibility, and leadership
- Ability to work evening shift (2:00 PM – 12:00AM schedule) with a weekend and holiday rotation
- Willingness to work a 10 hour day on a regular basis
- Positive attitude and willingness to roll up your sleeves and do whatever it takes to get the job done.
