SNL Program Coordinator

Summary:
The SNL Program Coordinator is responsible for creating, organizing andimplementing physical and recreational activities for youth participants to be primarilyperformed for the SNL Program. The SNL Program Coordinator also monitors and reviews educational performances.
Responsibilities:
- Create Intra-mural sports curriculum for the After School Academy Program.
- Collect participants’ report cards to monitor their educational progress.
- Organize activities related to sports & recreation such as basketball, soccer volleyball, baseball, gymnastics,flag football and yoga.
- Organize annual tournament, participating in local & citywide tournaments & Olympics.
- Organize various sports clinics.
- Recruit youth for specialized teams.
- Maintain and update participant files.
- Distribute and collect completed health forms for all participants.
- Plan and organize workshops for gym participants.
- Supervise all of the activities that are held in the gymnasium.
- Monitor and keep an inventory of all recreational and sports supplies, including Game Room supplies.
- Order sports and recreation supplies.
- Attend all weekly staff meetings.
- Submit weekly reports on a timely basis.
- Inform Program Director of changes or any irregularities
- Responsible for assisting and supervising all of the activities and functions that are related to the Summer Sports Camp, NIKE Basketball and Soccer for Success.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Salary: $25 per hour . This is a part time 10 hour weekly position.
Hours of Work:
Saturdays 3:00pm to 9:00pm ; 4 hours during the weekday TBD
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED, working towards AA or BA degree.
- Strong knowledge of sports and recreation, minimum of one year experience in organizing tournaments and working with youth.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Working conditions and physical demands required:

- Ability and patience to work with children and young people, recognizing their exuberance and juvenile behavior, particularly in group settings.
- Remain in a stationary position either working at a computer or monitoring activities.
- Move for long periods, providing instruction.
- Travel when taking field trips, using public transportation, Traverse City streets, ascend/descend stairs, and be exposed to outside weather conditions, while escorting youth.
- Exposed to outside weather conditions during the summer months.
