General Description
The Regional Director will lead and oversee our Job Corps program based out of New York City. The Regional Director will have a strong background in academic instruction and career and technical training, along with proven leadership skills to drive the success of our program. The Regional Director will be responsible for providing strategic direction, managing program operations, and ensuring the overall growth and development of our students.
Responsibilities
- Program Leadership: Provide visionary leadership to the Job Corps program, aligning activities with the program’s goals and objectives. Develop and implement strategies to enhance academic instruction and career and technical training in order to maximize student success and outcomes.
- Team Management: Lead a diverse team of instructors, career counselors, support staff, and administrative personnel. Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, providing guidance, mentoring, and professional development opportunities to staff members.
- Student Success: Oversee the implementation of effective academic curricula and career training programs that cater to the needs and aspirations of our students. Monitor student progress, analyze data, and develop strategies to ensure high retention rates, graduation rates, and positive post-graduation outcomes.
- Partnerships and Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with local educational institutions, employers, community organizations, and government agencies to establish partnerships that support student placement, internships, and employment opportunities. Maintain positive relationships with stakeholders to enhance the program’s reputation and influence.
- Budget and Resource Management: Develop and manage the program’s budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to achieve program goals. Identify potential funding sources, grant opportunities, and cost-saving measures to sustain and expand the program’s operations.
- Compliance and Reporting: Ensure adherence to all federal, state, and local regulations governing Job Corps programs. Prepare accurate and timely reports for internal and external stakeholders, detailing program performance, outcomes, and impact.
- Quality Improvement: Continuously assess program effectiveness and seek opportunities for improvement. Implement data-driven strategies to enhance program outcomes, student engagement, and overall satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or commensurate experience in Education, Career Counseling, Public Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 8 years of leadership experience in educational or workforce development programs, preferably within the Job Corps system.
- Strong understanding of academic instruction and career and technical training principles and practices.
- Proven ability to lead and manage diverse teams, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, staff, stakeholders, and community partners.
- Experience in budget management, resource allocation.
- Knowledge of federal regulations and compliance requirements related to Job Corps programs.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute long-term programmatic goals.
- Proficiency in data analysis and using metrics to drive program improvements.
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and manage crises effectively.
Salary: $130,000 – $145,000 Annually
