Lecturer in Data Analytics
The Department of Finance, Information Systems, and Economics in the School of Business at Lehman College, City University of New York is seeking applications for a full-time, CCE (Certificate of Continuous Employment) track lecturer/doctoral lecturer position beginning in August 2024.
Responsibilities include teaching up to four courses per semester in business analytics and courses in the following related areas: information systems, marketing analytics, financial analytics, and economic analytics; Development of data analytics curricula and program and course content that incorporates applied learning activities; Mentor students in the Finance, Information Systems, and Economics department; Engaging in activities in the department, School of Business, and the local and professional community to maintain faculty status for AACSB accreditation.
The Lehman College campus is located in Bronx, New York and is a Senior College within the City University of New York (CUNY) system. Lehman is the only four-year public college in the Bronx and is recognized as a Hispanic Serving Institution. The college serves mainly undergraduate students preparing them for employment, the professions and further study. The teaching load is 24 hours per year. For all faculty, service to the college, university and community is part of the mission as is a clear commitment to student engagement including advisement. Opportunities are available for faculty development and travel awards. Lehman College and CUNY internal funding is available through competitive grants for scholarship support.
With over 1,400 undergraduate and graduate majors, the School of Business offers five undergraduate degrees in accounting, business, and economics, and two M.S. degrees in accounting and business. Lehman College new School of Business was launched in July 2022 and has three departments—Accounting; Management and Business Innovation; and Finance, Information Systems, and Economics. The school aims to build on current collaborations with industry partners and small businesses in the Bronx to provide more experiential learning programs and opportunities.
In 2018, Lehman was ranked 3rd in the U.S. among four-year public institutions for economic mobility for students, and 1st in the U.S. among Hispanic-Serving Institutions with high extended upward income mobility rates.
QUALIFICATIONS
- The ideal candidate will have a master’s or higher degree with substantial data/business analytics coursework.
- The successful candidate must have a strong record of teaching experience in data/business analytics courses in various modalities (online, hybrid and in-person) and in large in-person classes as well as evidence of incorporating experiential learning to promote students’ knowledge of industry applications.
- Professional work experience in business analytics, particularly in applying Microsoft Excel, Python, R, and SQL to business analytics, is strongly preferred.
- The candidates must have a strong commitment to teaching undergraduate and graduate students from culturally diverse backgrounds.

Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.

Lecturer Doctoral = $92,242-$98,309
