The Bezos Foundation Workforce Support Program at BronxWorks seeks to hire 1 full-time Job Developer. That can play a key role to work as part of a dedicated team to provide the workforce programming and engagement to the STEHP families in helping families after they are housed gain professional development skills and career readiness, including employment opportunities, so they can rebuild their lives. 

Responsibilities

  • Must be highly knowledgeable about the methods of job development, client training, placement, and retention · 
  • Skilled in organizing workshops, connecting to training sessions with community partners and programs, with a proven history of meeting outcomes
  • Willingness to learn, and a proven or developing commitment to working with victims of domestic violence in a sensitive and non-judgmental way
  • Must have strong relationship with employer partners
  • Able to know what employers are looking for and how to appeal to employers
  • Responsible to prepare reports, documentation, presentations, and utilize databases
  • Must have ability to be flexible of schedule as needed. May be required to travel to sites, events; and other various locations across the Bronx
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Education

  • (2) years of relevant training and experience, including experience working with victims of domestic violence in lieu of a bachelor’s degree; or bachelor’s degree in health or human services. · 
  • Two (2) years of crisis counseling or advocacy experience preferred in a residential shelter for victims of domestic violence, and experience and demonstrated skills and outcomes in Job Development including tracking retention one-year after placement. · 
  • Must possess a demonstrated ability in delivering client services including communication and listening skills, understanding of human interaction and personality development, the ability to write and record case documentation, and demonstrated skills in individual coaching. · 
  • Demonstrated sensitivity and experience with and/or knowledge of domestic violence within and against disenfranchised communities including individuals whom identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and/or HIV-affected, etc. · 
  • Familiarity with the neighborhoods and population of Bronx County is a plus  
  • Engaging personality and detailed orientated skills are essential. Confident, honest, and reliable
  • Ability to organize workload and work effectively and produce measurable results with minimal supervision
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and be adaptable to changing needs of the program
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and oral
  • Must be computer-literate and must have knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, etc.)

Salary Range

$50,000.00 To 55,000.00 Annually
