Engagement and Outreach Coordinator

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

SALARY:

Driving mobile branch: $55,000 – $60,000

Non-driving mobile branch: $50,000 – $55,000

Lower East Side People’s Federal Credit Union (LESPFCU) is a non-profit financial cooperative organized in 1986 that promotes economic justice and opportunity in NYC neighborhoods. Owned by its members and dedicated to providing high-quality financial services and community development investments in low income, immigrant and other underserved communities. LESPFCU is close to $90 million in assets and has three physical branches in Lower East Side, East Harlem and Staten Island’s North Shore, and a mobile branch intended to visit and serve more communities in NYC. In addition, we are looking to expand to the Bronx in the upcoming years.  

JOB SUMMARY:  

The Engagement and Outreach Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and executing various outreach activities, including both in-person and virtual presentations, mobile branch visits, as well as cultivating and recruiting partner organizations and new members. The Coordinator will also be tasked with managing engagement programs at the credit union, facilitating one-on-one sessions, conducting email follow-ups, and organizing educational workshops. A key focus will be placed on promoting credit access and literacy. 

The Coordinator will collaborate closely with the Marketing team to tailor relevant communication regarding banking opportunities and credit access, incorporating insights derived from engagement findings and member requirements. This role offers an excellent opportunity to collaborate with other departments, such as Member Services and Lending, in order to optimize the overall member experience. 

Lastly, the coordinator will contribute to maintain social media presence active with content about activities and events, grant awards, milestones, new product/service introduction etc.  

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:  

· Associate / Bachelor Degree or relevant work experience 

· Highly organized and able to work independently to meet deadlines 

· Must understand our mission and be able to represent our credit union proudly  

· Flexibility to work evenings and weekends for outreach presentations, events, etc.  

· Spanish speaker preferred  

· Driver License and willingness to drive mobile van preferred 

· Proficient in Microsoft Office; other design software such as Canva, Photoshop, etc. is a plus 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  

• Spearhead the recruitment and engagement of members through collaborative partnerships, engagement programs, special grant opportunities, and credit promotions. 

• Organize and manage the mobile branch (mobile office) campaign in collaboration with partners and staff, including coordinating the maintenance of the mobile (van) branch. 

• Cultivate active involvement from current and prospective members through virtual and in-person meetings, thorough follow-ups, compelling presentations, and specialized projects. 

• Assist and oversee our expansion initiatives. 

• Coordinate need-based cross-selling with outreach efforts and marketing. 

• Collaborate with the Member Service and Lending departments to align objectives, emphasizing member engagement and addressing member needs. 

• Assist in ensuring accurate data entry, conducting surveys, evaluating programs, and performing marketing research as necessary. 

• Strategize and coordinate events, tabling activities, and other relevant initiatives. 

• Fulfill any additional duties as required.
