The HOPE Program is a leader among New York City job training providers, upskilling adult
jobseekers (ages 18 – 70) for a broad range of sectors, including a focus on green construction,
maintenance, infrastructure and related careers. We work with individuals facing deep
structural barriers to employment, including histories with the criminal legal system, current
and/or past homelessness, substance abuse disorders, low educational attainment and more.
Our comprehensive approach includes classroom training, industry-recognized certifications,
digital literacy and access, financial literacy and access, mental health support, case
management, paid job training, and our signature “HOPE for Life” approach, which provides a
vital community of support throughout the lives of HOPE graduates’ careers. With measurable

The Position
Position Overview
HOPE is seeking a Green Workforce Development Associate to advance employer and client
services for Bronx-based green jobs programming. This position, hired through NYSERDA’s
Climate Justice Fellowship Plus program, will support HOPE’s Employment and Business
Services team in the development of strategic partnerships, career readiness workshops and
1:1 coaching tools that align with new investments in the growing green workforce. At this time,
target green-collar industries include: building construction and maintenance, horticulture and
landscaping, HVAC/R and Solar PV maintenance.
The position reports to the Director of Employment and Business Services. This is a hybrid
position based out of HOPE’s Bronx office at 1360 Garrison Avenue, working onsite at least
three days per week.

The Climate Justice Fellowship Plus Program, funded by the U.S. Department of Labor and

supported by U.S. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, is a pilot initiative in partnership
with NYSERDA. The program advances climate justice and builds community wealth in the
Bronx and Queens, fostering equitable climate action. More information can be found here.

Responsibilities
● Green Workforce Labor Market Research
○ Research and document New York City green economy trends to identify
potential program and partnership investments, with a focus on the 14th
Congressional District; share recommendations with Program Directors and
Senior leadership via a monthly labor market report

● Workshop Development
○ Prepare and deliver accessible, engaging workshops to educate clients on
industry landscape and opportunities for strategic career pathways

● Job Readiness
○ Collaborate with the Bronx Employment Specialists to develop individualized
career pathways that are both informed by labor market information and aligned
with client skill sets, interests and availability

Minimum Qualifications
● Willingness to work full-time in the Bronx for the full 15-month duration of the
fellowship.
● Experience in partnership development, workshop development and/or client-led
service delivery.
● Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective community engagement.
● Interest in climate justice, environmental sustainability, or clean energy solutions.
Salary/Benefits
The salary for this position is $58,500. HOPE provides a full package of benefits including
healthcare and dental insurance, retirement plan, competitive vacation (plus half-day Fridays
during summer which is equal to 7.5 additional vacation days, and 12 paid holidays.
