Description

The Director of Development is responsible for securing approximately $1.1M in private funding through an annual appeal, key special events and individual gifts. The Director oversees two support staff and collaborates with other members of the development team, the Development Committee, the Board of Trustees, and the Associate Board.

Responsibilities
Individual Giving
● Design and execute HOPE’s annual appeal, with a target of $350,000.

● Establish and execute new strategies for individual giving, including major donor engagement, planned giving, monthly subscription program and others.
● Manage a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors.
● Manage and continuously improve upon processes to track, acknowledge, and
celebrate individual donors promptly.

Minimum Qualifications
● Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Business or a Liberal Arts Discipline
● 3-5 years progressively responsible experience in a development department
● 3-5 years management or leadership experience is strongly preferred.
● Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills including writing and presentation skills.
● Strong organizational, time management and problem solving skills.
● Ability to lead and direct others and work collaboratively with diverse teams
● Impeccable attention to detail.
● Knowledge of grant writing and institutional relations
● Knowledge of Sales Force or other CMS platforms as well as MS Office Suite.
● Event planning capabilities.
● Strong affinity for the HOPE mission

Salary/Benefits
The salary range for this position is $95,000-100,000, and is dependent upon experience.
HOPE provides a full package of benefits including healthcare and dental insurance, retirement
plan, competitive vacation (plus half-day Fridays during summer which is equal to 7.5
additional vacation days, and 12 paid holidays.
