Digital Literacy Instructor
The role entails digital literacy instruction across our job training and transitional employment programs, assisting in building interactive and industry-aligned digital literacy curricula, and engaging with current and emerging technologies needed for job search and employment success.
Responsibilities
● Design and teach fundamental computer skills (Microsoft Office, Google Suite, resume
and cover letter building, and job search) to 400+ students per year across HOPE’s
programs.
● Provide recommendations to the soft skills and work readiness classes, methodologies,
and assessments to meet students’ needs.
DigitalLiteracyInstructor
● Work with the Digital Literacy team to continuously update and refine training to include
mobile-based applications, employer-specific online applications, and other areas of
training based on workforce trends.
● Monitor student performance in class and ensure coaching is provided to enrolled
students so that they persist in the digital literacy classes as well as their broader
program alongside a team of Work Readiness Instructors for all programs
● Prepare for and participate in weekly client and monthly staff meetings as well as 1:1
supervision with the Assistant Director of Brooklyn Programs.
● Maintain accurate and current student records, including attendance, daily
performance, reports for referring partners, qualitative case notes, student completion
status, etc. Salesforce knowledge is a plus!
● Support HOPE with real-time information technology improvements and technical
assistance by engaging with HOPE’s contracted technology partner.
● Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
● Proven track record of coaching and/or teaching adults or disadvantaged populations
● Strong understanding of the essential digital literacy skills
● Knowledge or interest in the environmental sustainability field
● Experience in green infrastructure or clean energy a plus
● Mission-oriented individual with strong organizational, teamwork, communications (both
verbal and written), basic math, and digital literacy skills

Salary/Benefits
The salary range is $25 – $28 an hour for up to 30 hours per week, depending upon experience.
