Salary Range: $110,000.00 To 110,000.00 Annually

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  •  Assume responsibility for all aspects of the Programs, including staff recruitment, hiring and training. (ie: contract related/strategic planning, etc) 
  • Set and implement goals for each program and report/discuss with Department Director.  
  • Work with Department Director on writing proposals and ensure it is submitted timely. 
  • Responsible for finalizing and submitting timely program budgets 
  • Responsible for Contract renewals for all Programs and understand contractual obligations of all programs. 
  • Oversee all Programs expenses and coordinate with each Department Director and Fiscal on how to handle issues or new procedures, etc. 
  • Responsible for timely contract reporting for Programs. 
  • Responsible for development of corrective plans for programs that are not meeting contractual obligations by working alongside Department Directors to ensure all issue are addressed and properly and timely.  
  • Follow all US Occupational Safety & Health requirements. 
  • Assist the department with the development of program goals for programs in portfolio.
  • Recruit, hire and supervise staff members and interns 
  • Supervise all aspects of the Older Youth programs including budget preparation and monitoring. 
  • Sustained knowledge and understanding of testing and assessment tools for older youth. 
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals and narrative reports to funding sources 
  • Create an environment of teamwork within programs, the department and agency as a whole. 
  • Responsible for completing monthly reports detailing program performance 
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of regular C & Y staff meetings 
  • Meet monthly with program staff for supervision 
  • Responsible for writing accident/ incident reports and submitting within deadline 
  • Perform other duties deemed necessary by department director or assistant executive director to ensure that the highest quality of service is offered 
  •  Supervisory expectations: 
  •  Conduct regular meetings with all Program Coordinators (monthly) and provide supervision/coaching and support.  
  • Visits sites as much as possible  
  • Perform staff evaluations for direct reports (progress reports for all programs at least once per month/ 6 mo./ annually) 
  • Review and make suggestions about staff issues along with Department Director, Assistant Executive Director and HR.  
  • Read, analyze and respond in writing to monthly reports from Program Coordinator 

PROGRAM SPECIFIC RESPONISBILITIES

  • Ensure overall contractual goals are met for all contracts
  • Maintain communication and collaboration with funders
  • Oversee agency food operations at Jermone Avenue Men’s Shelter, Pyramid Safe Haven, Stebbins Stabilization, Westchester Avenue, Living Room/Safe Haven and Carolyn McLaughlin Community Center at minimum
  • Verify menu compliance under Child Adult Care Food Program, Department of Homeless Services, and Department of Aging
  • Submit monthly meals served reports to funder for reimbursement
  • Ensure required documentation for meal records, site monitoring visits, and attendance records are completed and current
  • Monitor monthly meal served and waste reports are submitted to funder on time
  • Manage proper kitchen operations including NYCDOHMH Food Safety Standards, OSHA regulations regarding proper kitchen hygiene and maintenance
  • Review and update Policy and Procedures Manuals

QUALIFICATION

  • Master’s degree in social services, public administration, education or related field 
  • Experience in workforce development as well as youth development principles 
  • 3-7 year’s management experience in a social service or children & youth setting 

 PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

  • Excellent time management and communication skills 
  • Good writing skills 
  • Ability to work with children ages 13 – 24 years old 
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds 
  • Ability to stand, walk, or sit for long periods of time 
  • Ability to climb five flights of stairs 
  • Ability to bend and retrieve objects and/or documents 
  • Ability to travel in the boroughs of New York City and its adjacent counties via public transportation 
  • Ability to travel for a minimum of 1 mile within a reasonable amount of time and in all types of weather, including inclement weather
