Program Description
CUNY Comprehensive Access to Resources for Essential Services {CUNY CARES) is an innovative pilot program aimed at revolutionizing the way health and social services are provided to students attending the three Bronx campuses of the City University of New York
(CUNY). The three Bronx campuses are Bronx Community College, Hostos College. and Lehman College. Through a comprehensive, student-centered approach, CUNY CARES seeks to address the diverse needs of the student population and enhance their overall well-being. academic success, and overall college experience. The pilot program aims to demonstrate and evaluate the effectiveness of this integrated model. Based on the outcomes and successes of the pilot, CUNY CARES intends to extend the program to all 25 CUNY campuses.
Position Description
The Campus Coordinator plays a pivotal role in supporting campus-based activities and initiatives to enhance the overall student experience and promote academic success. The position involves collaborating with various stakeholders, including students, faculty, staff, and external partners, to facilitate programs and services addressing the diverse needs of the campus. The Campus Coordinator serves as a link between students and available resources, ensuring they have access to essential services. The Campus Coordinators report to the CUNY CARES Director and to a campus-designated supervisor at each campus. This is a part-time position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates should have an Associates Degree in student Services, Education, Social Work or related discipline: at least 2 years experience providing social or health services to low- income young adults: strong interpersonal, communications and problem-solving skills: Knowledge of CUNY and experience working in low income, immigrant, Black or Latina communities, especially in the Bronx is highly desirable. Proficiency in spanish also desirable

Job Responsibilities
The Campus Coordinators will be responsible for these tasks:
l. Collaborate with CUNY CARES Director, campus supervisors, BCC CARES and
- Act as a liaison between students and essential service providers, assisting students in accessing health. food pantry, mental health, food security. housing, and other crucial resources both on and off-campus.
- Connect with other clubs on the Bronx Community College campus to coordinate collaboration on activities such as events, presentations, workforce opportunities, etc.
- Develop outreach strategies to promote awareness of BCC CARES & CUNY CARES services and activities within the campus community. Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
- Collect relevant data and information related to student engagement, services utilized, and project outcomes. Prepare regular reports for the CUNY CARES Director and campus supervisors to assess the effectiveness and impact of the project.
- Coordinate partnerships with community organizations, and other programs to expand the network of resources available to students.
- Respond to student crisis related to health, mental health, housing, or other urgent needs, and refer students to appropriate services when necessary.
- Meet regularly with BCC CARES, Advocates, and Navigators to identify opportunities for student engagement, education, and outreach.
- Develop educational and outreach materials for CUNY CARES activities using a variety of digital, campus and other media
- Coordinate and oversee the execution of campus events, workshops, seminars, and activities that foster student engagement, professional development, and or academic enrichment.
- Meet regularly with other campus coordinators, BCC CARES, CUNY CARES director and evaluator to monitor progress towards goals, identify and solve problems and give feedback on campus implementation
COMPENSATION
$47.42 per hour
* This is a grant-funded position and the position will terminate once the grant has expired.*
