The Program Coordinator II will work closely with the Program Director to create a dynamic program utilizing youth development best practices and principles to create a conducive learning environment for children, youth and families. This position is ideal for an entrepreneurial professional eager to bring his/her creativity and skills to an organization that promotes innovation in its work to change the trajectory of those affected by the effects of cyclical poverty.

The Program Coordinator II must be able to plan and organize a structured program consisting of educational and recreational activities according to age group, supervise staff and maintain a high level of communication between school representatives and participant families.

Salary Range: $40,000 to $43,000 – salary is commensurate with education, training, and experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • With the support of the Program Director monitor all aspects of the program;
  • Model positive youth development practices;
  • Supervise and coach direct service staff members;
  • Facilitate staff meetings;
  • With support of the Program Director, coordinate professional development trainings for direct service staff;
  • Work closely with the Program Director, to direct staff to establish a common language, workplace culture and program vision that speaks to our purpose in the community and the impact we aim to make.
  • Create a strong sense of community which values respect, acceptance, and high expectations.
  • Organize office operations and procedures, monitoring staff time and attendance, preparing payroll, controlling correspondence, designing filing systems, reviewing and approving supply requisitions.
  • Design and implement program policies and protocols, monitor and ensure compliance.
  • Manage all data entry across company and contracted data systems including participant enrollment, attendance, and ensure that all program goals and outcome targets are achieved.
  • Ensure all records including staff files, participant files, and program certifications are up to date and in accordance with organizational and funding source requirements.
  • Maintain office efficiency by planning and implementing office systems, layout and equipment procurement, maintain and replenish inventory, checking stock to determine inventory levels, and anticipate needed supplies.
  • Make sure that all program related facilities and materials are well maintained and liaise with the appropriate agency staff around facility maintenance, when necessary.
  • Evening and weekend work related to special events and meetings may be required.
  • Perform any and all task deemed necessary by the Program Director.

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree or two years of college required; Bachelor’s degree preferred;
  • At least two years of administrative/supervisory experience. Experience working with the targeted age group is ideal;
  • Excellent computer skills including the Microsoft Windows computer environment, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and electronic communication tools; internet and email required;
  • Demonstrated organizational skills required; proven problem solving and interpersonal skills; proven ability to work with multiple deadlines and multiple priorities;
  • Ability to work across a variety of projects and with diverse populations;
  • Flexibility, adaptability and ability to work in a changing environment;
