Position Summary:

The Program Coordinator will work closely with the Site Director to create a dynamic after-school program utilizing youth development best practices and principles in conducting academic enrichment, project-based learning, arts, and physical education activities.

Salary Range: $35,000 to $38,000 – salary is commensurate with education, training, and experience. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • With the support of the Program/Community School/Campus Director, design, develop, and support a designated program for students. Plan and implement program themes and activities
  • Support and coach senior group leaders, group leaders, senior student advocates, and student advocates. 
  • Work closely with the Director to organize logistics for the program; schedules, space reservations, resources needed, etc.
  • Create a monthly newsletter for families, school administration, and stakeholders
  • Input orders and close-outs in Yardi
  • Ensure attendance is accurately entered in appropriated database(s)
  • Some weekend work related to special events, meetings may be required
  • Create a strong sense of community which values respect, acceptance, and high expectations
  • Work closely with the Director and staff establish a common language and vision that speaks to our purpose in the community and the impact we aim to make
  • Work closely with families, parents and guardians to ensure the needs of students are met
  • Help collect and organize data
  • Perform any and all task deemed necessary by the Director

Qualifications/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required. Some college credits preferred
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a youth development role. Experience working with the targeted age group is ideal
  • Demonstrated track record of accomplishments
  • Excellent computer skills including the Microsoft Office Suite and electronic communications tools: internet and email required
  • Demonstrated organizational skills required; proven problem solving and interpersonal skills; proven ability to work with multiple deadlines and multiple priorities
  • Ability to work across a variety of projects and with diverse populations
  • Flexibility, adaptability and ability to work in a changing environment
  • Team player excited about the opportunity to work in an environment dedicated to the development and growth of youth
