Position Summary: The Wholesale Delivery Driver is part of a driver team responsible for providing efficient and safe delivery of produce by the case or pallet to clients within NYC (5 Boroughs). Drivers obtain their assigned trucks and routes from our warehouse in The Bronx, make deliveries in a 16’ to 26’ refrigerated truck with a lift gate, and operate hand trucks, pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks and forklifts as needed. Drivers deliver orders to the appropriate destination within a scheduled time. They are expected to provide professional customer service, keep all delivery documents and invoices neat and organized, and communicate with supervisors regarding lateness, equipment issues, and damaged or missing product. This position reports directly to the Operations and Logistics Manager.

Responsibilities:

Operating equipment and machines, such as hand trucks, pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks, and forklifts as needed
Making deliveries in a 16’-26’ refrigerated truck with lift gate.
Following delivery driving routes and time schedules
Providing customer service, answering questions, and handling complaints from clients
Preparing and organizing all delivery documents and invoices
Abiding by all transportation laws and maintaining a safe driving record.
Assisting warehouse staff with receiving products, loading/unloading trucks, and aggregating orders for clients as needed
Communicating all issues with the Operations and Logistics Manager no matter the time

Qualifications:

One-year Commercial truck driving experience
Familiarity with and driving knowledge of NYC streets
Attention to detail
Ability to maneuver a full pallet with appropriate equipment
Must be comfortable interacting with customers
Ability to communicate effectively with customers and coworkers
Familiarity with storage of food products and/or food handling
Ability to work early mornings and weekends
A valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
Ability to communicate consistently and effectively with the Operations and Logistics manager throughout the route

Salary: $26 per hour
