Workplace Flexibility Modality: Possibility of hybrid schedule after 30 days of work. Wednesdays are required in office day.

Work Environment: Office Environment, occasional travel for meetings and presentations within the NYC boroughs.

The Fund for Public Health in New York City (FPHNYC) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that is dedicated to the advancement of the health and well-being of all New Yorkers.Ā  To this end, in partnership with the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH), FPHNYC incubates innovative public health initiatives implemented by DOHMH to advance community health throughout the city. ItĀ facilitates partnerships, often new and unconventional, between government and the private sector to develop, test, and launch new initiatives. These collaborations speed the execution of demonstration projects, effect expansion of successful pilot programs, and support rapid implementation to meet the public health needs of individuals, families, and communities across New York City.

About The Role

WorkWell NYCĀ seeksĀ an independent and highly motivated Special ProjectsĀ FellowĀ to provideĀ support for a variety of worksite wellness initiatives that aim to improve the health and well-being of City of New York employees.Ā WorkWellĀ NYC Special ProjectsĀ FellowĀ will support strategic goalsĀ thatĀ WorkWellĀ NYC has setĀ by working on variousĀ projectĀ under the supervision of the Program DirectorĀ and Assistant Commissioner.

About the Program

WorkWell NYC (WWNYC) is an innovative workplace wellness team servicing over 350,000 City of New York employees. WorkWell NYC supports agencies to develop workplace-based programming and innovative, sustainable workplace wellness infrastructure. WorkWell NYC offers Citywide programming in person and digitally — live and on-demand — in five areas: prevention and chronic conditions, physical fitness, mental well-being, nutrition, and health equity.

Responsibilities

Projects andĀ responsibilitiesĀ will include:

AssistĀ with the development of innovative programming such as events for the 10thĀ anniversary of WorkWell NYC

  • Research vendors, event spaces, etc.
  • Draft program planning documents such asĀ objectives, evaluation measures/surveys, workplans, marketing materials, etc.
  • AssistĀ with implementation and staffing of events/initiatives

AssistĀ with the development and mappingĀ ofĀ data analytics and customer relationship management tools and implementation

 

Conduct research to support reaching new populationsĀ and providingĀ responsive programming

  • Reach out to stakeholders toĀ gather informationĀ and schedule meetingsĀ (i.e.Ā informal inquiries, focus groups, etc.)
  • Draft communications to share information with stakeholders (i.e.Ā emails, flyers,Ā presentations,Ā etc.)

Attend staff meetings and other WorkWellĀ NYCĀ meetings as requested by their supervisor

Other program support, as assigned

 

Requirements

  • Possess strong skills inĀ project andĀ time management, verbalĀ and written communicationĀ and organizational skills.  
  • ProficiencyĀ inĀ MicrosoftĀ Office, Canva,Ā AirtableĀ andĀ Salesforce DisplayĀ a capacity for critical, independent, and creative thinking.  
  • Be a highly motivated self-starter who is flexible and able to balance multiple assignments with deadlinesĀ 
  • PreviousĀ experience withĀ research,Ā outreachĀ and program developmentĀ 
  • PreviousĀ experience withĀ health and wellness promotionĀ programsĀ 
  • Able toĀ participateĀ in externalĀ workplace-based health forums (i.e., health fairs, educational programs)Ā throughout NYCĀ to promote and/or evaluateĀ WorkWellĀ NYC programsĀ 
  • PreviousĀ experience with the City of New YorkĀ 
  • GraduateĀ student (preferred) inĀ public health, health promotion,Ā health administration,Ā sociology, organizational development, social work,Ā community organizingĀ orĀ otherĀ related fieldĀ

This position will be hired through a staffing agency. This position does not include benefits or paid holidays.
