POSITION DETAILS
The Director of Financial Aid provides the overall management and leadership necessary for effective administration of
Lehman College’s student financial aid programs. Reporting to the Vice President for Enrollment Management, the Director
is responsible for the management and awarding of more than $70 million dollars annually. The Director ensures that the
office provides quality services to students, families, and other constituencies in relation to financial aid matters.
Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:
• Providing overall leadership, management, evaluations, and strategic vision to the Lehman College Financial Aid
Office.
• Effectively ensuring compliance with federal and state aid laws and regulations through the development and
oversight of college policies.
• Supporting the college’s goal to recruit, retain, and graduate diverse students.
• Tracking and assessing financial aid outcomes.
• Hiring, supervising, and evaluating staff.
• Serving and leading both CUNY and Collegewide committees.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree and eight years’ related experience required. Master’s degree preferred.
CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW
Develops and oversees student financial aid programs in accordance with Federal/State laws and regulations and University guidelines.
- Develops and interprets financial aid policies and procedures with regard to Federal and NY State programs such as internal loan programs, all state and federal loan programs, Stafford Loans, Perkins Loans, College Work Study, and Tuition Assistance Program (TAP)
- Reports on general and fiscal matters such as program expenditures, projections of full-year spending potential, and analyses of spending patterns
- Authorizes the disbursement of funds
- Monitors compliance with Federal and State financial aid regulations, developing and implementing compliance procedures
- Serves as College liaison to Federal, State, local and professional agencies on financial aid matters
- Assures that the Financial Aid function works effectively with other College units (e.g., Admissions, Registrar, Bursar)
- Manages financial aid staffing, development, and evaluation
- Performs related duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
$129,310 -$141,858, Salary commensurate with education and experience.
