BronxWorks is hiring (1) Housing Specialist for Willow Avenue Family Residence Program
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct housing intakes for all residents.
- Identify housing opportunities for clients.
- Complete housing applications for clients.
- Facilitate monthly housing meeting.
- Escort clients to viewings, lease signings, and interviews.
- Conduct apartment inspections.
- Act as liaison with funders pertaining to housing.
- Attend regular staff meetings.
- Attend Housing meetings/ seminars.
- Document housing progress via case notes.
- Submit reports to supervisor monthly, or more frequently as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
- BA preferred, or Associates degree.
- A minimum of two years related experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Proficiency in English required, proficiency in a second language preferred.
- Engaging Personality , detailed oriented
- Proficient in modern business systems.
- Strong oral and written communication
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to walk , sit or stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to travel within the 5 boroughs in all types of weather, including inclement weather by car or public transportation.
- Ability to climb up to 5 flights of stairs.
- Ability to bend retrieve objects and or documents.
- Ability to occasionally lift of pull up to 5 pounds.
- ‘TB Test required with the first 120 days of employment for Shelters and HOT.’
