Construction Worker/Laborer

Controlled Combustion is a diverse and stable 40-year-old full service commercial heating company comprised of over 150 employees is looking to add a experienced Construction Worker/Laborer to its current team. The entry-level mechanic candidate will quickly learn the skills needed for assembling parts and building natural gas and oil burners for heating and steam boilers. The ideal candidate will have good mechanical aptitude, a can-do attitude, and possess the ability to “learn by doing.” The successful candidate will complete the following tasks efficiently and with attention to detail.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Follow project instructions from construction manager or supervisor
• Follow all health and safety regulations when operating equipment
• Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner
• Use construction and maintenance tools and equipment to complete daily tasks
• Safely operate a variety of tools including pressure washers, jackhammers, drills, saws, grinders, and blowtorches
• Unload tools, prepare building site materials, stack building materials, and set up equipment
• Prepare new construction sites by digging, moving dirt, or compacting space
• Cleaning the construction site by removing hazards materials and debris from the worksite
• Provide assistance to contractors (i.e. craft workers, electricians, painters) as needed

Minimum Education/Experience:

• High school degree or GED required. Some work Experience in a Construction Worker/Laborer role is highly desired but not required. We will Train the right candidate.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical tools (Hand or Powered)
• Must demonstrate the ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly with a high attention to detail
• Must posses ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 60 pounds
• Must be comfortable climbing up tall ladders, working at elevated levels
• Positive attitude and work ethic
• Able to work independently or as an active member of a team
• Excellent interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management

Pay: $15.00 – $25.00 per hour
