Position Summary:

We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (Bilingual Spanish/English) to join our team at Vida Guidance Center! Vida Guidance Center is an outpatient mental health center serving children, adults, and families. Candidates must have a passion and commitment to serving individuals with chronic and/or recurring mental health needs. 

Our Medical Assistants provide support to providers and nurses with patient care, clerical duties, and laboratory activities.  
Candidates must possess availability to work shift Monday & Wednesday 10:00am-8:00pm, Thursday 9:00am – 7:00pm, Friday 8:30am-5:00pm and Saturday 8:30am-2:00pm. (Tuesdays and Sundays are off)  

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Previous experience working in a community-based health center or similar setting. 
  • Medical Assistant Certificate or completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English required.
  • 1 year of related experience required (may include internship/externship experience).
  • Flexible work schedule
  • Proficiency with computers and software.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.  

Key Duties:

  • Prepare and cleans examination rooms, equipment, and sterilizes instruments.
  • Obtain vital signs, chief complaint, and medical history and accurately records in medical records.
  • Assists providers during all aspects of exams.
  • Assist provider with treatments
  • Registers and verifies patient demographics. 
  • Schedules appointments and recalls patients for required services.
