DreamYard is currently accepting applications for a part-time Tech Support Program Associate.
We are looking for passionate, experienced individuals with a strong interest in social justice,
youth development and tech support for a unique hybrid opportunity to support the
administrative and teaching artist staff as well as students of DreamYard with their tech and
access needs.

About DreamYard

DreamYard collaborates with young people, families, schools and communities in the Bronx to
build pathways to equity and opportunity through arts and social justice programs. DreamYard’s
In School and Art Center programs help thousands of K-12th grade Bronx young people each
year pursue educational pathways towards higher learning and meaningful careers; it is our
expectation that our youth will develop the tools to become engaged citizens, life-long learners
and the leaders and innovators of the 21st century.

Co-Executive directors Jason Duchin and Tim Lord founded DreamYard in 1994. Over the past
two decades, DreamYard has worked with more than 100 public schools and over 200,000
young people and families. DreamYard has developed a robust educational community in the
Bronx – from its in-school partnerships and launch of the DreamYard Preparatory High School
to its Out of School Programs at the DreamYard Art Center in the Morrisania neighborhood of
the Bronx, the development of the Bx Start Gaming and Entrepreneurship Center in the north
Bronx and the launch of our Creative Career Pathways work-based learning internship
programs in 2018. DreamYard is focused entirely in the Bronx, a borough that possesses
incredible cultural, human and economic assets.

The Position

This is a part-time position reporting to the DreamYard Office Manager and supporting the
program teams. The Tech Support Coordinator will have the support and guidance of
DreamYard’s long-time Tech Consultant (who has built DreamYard’s existing systems and will
still be on staff). The Coordinator will be asked to be in person at the DreamYard Art Center 20
hours per week (the exact schedule to be worked out) to support and manage tech systems,
distribution, upkeep and management.

Qualifications

● Expertise in tech support exhibited through an educational degree and/or professional
experience;
● Experience managing and configuring a variety of computers, with a focus on Macs;
● Experience with tech support systems, such as a “ticketing” system;
● Experience with networks and network troubleshooting;
● Strong organizational skills;
● Strong interpersonal skills;
● A strong interest in education and working with young people;
● An interest in digital equity;

Responsibilities

● Support DreamYard Tech Consultant in designing and managing systems for all of
DreamYard’s technology needs, including administrative and programmatic;
● Help establish the procedures necessary to support the organization, such as
onboarding, security, updates and patches, and change management;
● Under the guidance of the Tech Consultant, identify, set up and manage all software and
subscription-based tools for the organization (Google Apps, Microsoft Office, Adobe
Suite, Zoom, computer backup services, etc.)
● Ensure all technology systems and hardware are up to date including regular
maintenance and troubleshooting for devices, as well as keeping a technology inventory
● Organize and manage tech storage and lending in multiple locations
● Help the Tech Consultant to develop the organization’s comprehensive IT strategy,
including creation of project plans, time schedules, equipment and cost estimates for
short- medium- and long-term application
● Maintain the organization’s IT infrastructure including on-site wi-fi network at various
locations
● Work with HR, Operations and Finance departments to ensure information security
within all communications and record keeping
● Provide computer hardware training, support and troubleshooting, including PC and Mac
operating systems to staff as needed

● Actively pursuing individualized professional development through coaching;
● Actively contributing to the professional development of the community by sharing
expertise and knowledge both formally and informally (e.g. leading a department
meeting).
