BronxWorks is Hiring (1) Senior Outreach Worker for the PEACH Program. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide virtual and in-person (as feasible) outreach and education activities to Bronx-PEACH partners and their staff members
  • Support referrals for tax filing to BronxWorks consultants, ensure collection of baseline ACEs, baseline, interim and final PHQ2 (and PHQ9 as warranted), and housing insecurity data from participating clients
  • Participate in program activities via videoconferencing as necessary to coordinate benefit enrollment activities for target population clients requiring assistance in acquiring and/or maintaining benefits for which they are eligible
  • Help in preparing documents, presentations, and databases
  • Work flexible hours, with availability to work some evenings and Saturdays, with prior notice.
  • Required to travel across the Bronx
  • Additional duties as assigned 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree required  
  • Being a resident of the community, preferred
  • Engaging personality and detailed orientated skills are essential
  • Strong oral and written communication, time management and organizational skills are necessary
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other standard business technology is required

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Excellent Communication Skills (both orally and in writing); public speaking experience preferred. 
  • Strong Customer Service Focus
  • Computer Proficiency

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

  • Must be Fully Vaccinated against COVID-19 
  • Ability to use a computer for prolonged periods. 
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. 
  • Ability to stand, walk, or sit for long periods of time. 
  • Ability to climb five flights of stairs, if required to conduct home visits and/or fieldwork. 
  • Ability to bend and retrieve objects and/or documents. 
  • Ability to travel in the boroughs of New York City and its adjacent counties via public transportation. 
  • Ability to travel for a minimum of 1 mile within a reasonable amount of time and in all types of weather, including inclement weather, if required to conduct home visits and/or field work.
