TITLE Resident Engagement Supervisor 
ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION A pioneering not-for-profit affordable housing developer and community programs initiator in New York City, Settlement Housing Fund, Inc. has worked since 1969 to create more than 8,700 apartments through 64 affordable rental and homeownership development projects. Settlement Housing Fund presently owns and maintains 36 buildings containing 1,979 apartments in various locations, with concentrations of housing and programs in the Mt. Eden section of the Bronx, Crown Heights, Brooklyn, the Two Bridges neighborhood on the Lower East Side, as well as at other sites throughout Manhattan. We expect that our portfolio will continue to grow. Settlement Housing Fund is equally committed to bringing amenities, programs and services to communities we serve through the development and operation of affordable housing. Settlement Housing Fund is the parent organization of The Crenulated Company, LTD dba New Settlement which was created in 1989 with the acquisition of 14 abandoned buildings from the City of New York. New Settlement has evolved into a robust social service organization offering a range of community-based services in education, college access, youth development, arts, workforce development, community organizing, wellness and other key services that provide important resources to the neighborhood’s youth and families. New Settlement’s success has been achieved through close collaboration with a wide range of educational institutions, housing and community development organizations, businesses, youth development and social service agencies – in the neighborhood, Bronx-wide, across New York and nationally. The programs at New Settlement are supported by local, state and federal government agencies, as well as foundations, corporations, organizations and individuals.  
DESCRIPTION JOB SUMMARY: Reporting to the Assistant Program Director, the Resident Engagement Supervisor will act as a direct supervisor to program Advocates and provide direct intervention when complications arise. In coordination with other SHF staff, the Resident Engagement Supervisor will ensure staff are meeting the needs of each family, identifying possible barriers to permanency, and securing the resources necessary to promote stability. HybridLocation: Bronx NY 10459 and field work

Job Duties include but not limited to:
• Provides supervision to Resident Engagement Advocates.
• Meets with staff regularly to ensure effective service provision.
• Monitor data entry to ensure timely submission of notes, goals, intakes, assessments, referrals, etc.
• Identify service needs and appropriate intervention(s) to assist the families with desired outcome.
• Provide direct supportive counseling, advocacy and/or outreach services to families as needed.
• Identify information, referral sources, community partners, and other relevant parties for Resident Engagement program.
• Familiarity with entitlements, housing programs, and other benefits available.
• Serves as a liaison with property manager and various social service agencies.
• Advocates for and assists families in the negotiation of the service delivery system, to ensure receipt of entitlements and maintenance of permanent housing.
• Participates in weekly staff meeting and client conferences as needed.
• Perform other duties as reasonably requested. 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
• LMSW or MSW preferred, or master’s degree in related discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience working with homeless/formerly homeless families.
• Extensive knowledge of various city social service agencies and community-based organizations related to housing and homelessness.
• Bilingual a plus but not a requirement
• Ability to relate to persons of diverse backgrounds.
• Commitment to providing affordable housing for low-to-moderate income population.Candidates must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 to be considered for employment. SALARY $63,000-$67,000
