BronxWorks seeks a Program Developer to work across the BronxWorks Case Management programs, including adult and family homeless services, homelessness prevention, foster care prevention, health care coordination, and supportive housing. The Program Developer will work with senior program staff on efforts to sustain and expand agency service offerings, such as grant writing and contract renewals. They will also support quality assurance and reporting measures to ensure program compliance. This position offers the opportunity to work across a wide variety of programs and activities; previous Program Developers have represented BronxWorks on citywide task forces, conducted policy advocacy efforts on behalf of the agency, and managed construction projects.

A successful applicant must exhibit strong skills in persuasive writing, interpersonal communication, organization, strategic planning, and problem solving. A bachelor’s degree and professional writing experience is required; master’s degree and/or related experience in social services preferred.

BronxWorks is hiring one (1) Program Developer for our Case ManagementProgram 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Research and write grant applications and contract renewals for city, state, and private funders 
  • Support start-up efforts for new program development, such as hiring/recruitment, reporting, policy/procedure manuals, and liaising with the funder 
  • Support program directors with quality assurance and reporting measures to ensure programs are meeting contractual goals 
  • Maintain familiarity with the social services and resources that are available agency-wide and in the community 
  • Represent the agency at inter-agency meetings and events 
  • Manage multiple projects independently 
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred 
  • Strong persuasive writing skills and relevant experience in professional and/or academic writing 
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills 
  • Detail-oriented and resourceful with strong time management and organizational skills 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other standard business technology · Passion for social service

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Full vaccination against COVID-19 is required.
  • Ability to use a computer for prolonged periods 
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds 
  • Ability to stand, walk, or sit for long periods of time 
  • Ability to climb five flights of stairs 
  • Ability to bend and retrieve objects and/or documents 
  • Ability to travel in the boroughs of New York City and its adjacent counties via public transportation 
  • Ability to travel for a minimum of 1 mile within a reasonable amount of time and in all types of weather, including inclement weather
