BronxWorks is hiring 1 Program Assistant for The Brook Housing Program

RESPONSIBILITIES

Our part-time Program Assistant is primarily responsible for monitoring our Computer Lab and offering residents assistance with trouble shooting computer issues and providing basic computer support (Setting up Emails, Social Media Accounts ect. This a is a great opportunity for College Students and for Individuals seeking flexible hours and opportunities to be exposed to Social Services in a Supportive Housing environment. The Program Assistant is also responsible for assisting with other tasks as needed to help support the program. These tasks can include front desk coverage, managing client traffic, client field escorts as needed and assisting with program supply inventory. The Program Specialist will work closely with the Tenant Services Coordinator and other Program Staff. Some evenings and weekends required. Spanish Bilingual preferred but not required.

  • Responsible for monitoring the Computer Lab
  • Manage Data on Tenant Computer usage.
  • Complete weekly summary reports of Lab and Tenant Services activities
  • Help Clients improve their computer skills.
  • Trouble shooting computer issues.
  • Liaison with our IT Department as needed.
  • Maintain Computer Lab supplies in stock (Paper, Ink)
  • Providing basic computer support (Setting up Emails, Social Media Accounts
  • Maintain Sign-In log for Computer Lab
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or higher
  • Experience with service population
  • Engaging personality and detail-orientated skills are essential.
  • Spanish language proficiency preferred but not required.
  • Strong oral and written communication, time management and organizational skills are necessary.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other standard business technology is required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • MUST BE FULLY VACCINATED AGAINST COVID 19*
  • Ability to use a computer for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, or sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to climb five flights of stairs, if required to conduct home visits and/or fieldwork.
  • Ability to bend and retrieve objects and/or documents.
  • Ability to travel in the boroughs of New York City and its adjacent counties via public transportation.
  • Ability to travel for a minimum of 1 mile within a reasonable amount of time and in all types of weather, including inclement weather, if required to conduct home visits and/or field work.
