BronxWorks is hiring one (1) Assistant Program Director for our Homeless Outreach Team (HOT) Program .

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Ensure social service delivery to all outreach clients, working in concert with on-site medical provider and offsite psychiatric provider, and for statistical reporting both internally and to funding agencies.
  • Supervise coordinators, case management and outreach staff.
  • Work in concert with the Program Director on all on-site human resources functions, including staff hiring, evaluation, supervision, training, and termination.
  • Plan, develop and help implement program policy.
  • Write proposals and/or coordinate proposal writing team.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new program components as required.
  • Assist with the management of the collection and presentation of client, administrative, and programmatic data to evaluate performance and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Represent agency at interagency meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager.

 QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Masters level education required.
  • One to three years supervisory experience.
  • One year of post-master’s experience in a social work setting required.
  • Experience working with governmental agencies.
  • Extensive experience working with multi-problem individuals.
  • Superb crisis management skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication, time management and organizational skills are necessary.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other standard business technology is required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

  • Full vaccination against COVID-19 is required.
  • Ability to use a computer for prolonged periods. 
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. 
  • Ability to stand, walk, or sit for long periods of time. 
  • Ability to climb five flights of stairs, if required to conduct home visits and/or fieldwork. 
  • Ability to bend and retrieve objects and/or documents. 
  • Ability to travel in the boroughs of New York City and its adjacent counties via public transportation. 
  • Ability to travel for a minimum of 1 mile within a reasonable amount of time and in all types of weather, including inclement weather, if required to conduct home visits and/or field work.
